Why Ten Tails?

Animals and animal rescue have always been important to the Matzan-Fried family.

Over our years together, we have had 10 animal tails.

Every tail has a tale. Every tail was rescued.

Meet the Ten Tails

Ginny

Trouble

Ginny

Ginny is our COVID, foster fail puppy. Originally a short-term puppy foster, we "foster failed" in late July. Ginny is Great Pyrenees/Husky mix. Her attitude is all husky, but her poor shoulder was Great Pyrenees. She had surgery in December 202 leading to her fancy hair cut!

Adopted from A Good Dog Rescue.

Nigel is our first family dog and was adopted in February 2020. Nigel is a loveable Pitbull super-mutt! Nigel is often referred to as the Peaceful Pitbull (compared to his sister, the Hectic Husky). Nigel is the happiest dog in the world, loves everyone and is convinced he is a lap dog (he's 70 lbs).

Spike & Louie

Spike and Louie were bonded brothers that were initially adopted by a relative. Due to allergies, they came to stay with us, spent a few years living with close family friends, and then came back to us to live out their senior years. Extremely sweet and loving, they would often sit with Matt while he worked on his computer.

Louie passed in March 2020 and Spike died in November 2016.

Pixie was adopted from a bunny rescue group in Pennsylvania as a companion for Harvey after Hazel's passing. After a great initial connection, Harvey decided to remain a widower. Instead, Mr. Emily welcomed her as his companion.

Mr. Emily came to Tara through another member of Bunny Buddies. At 8 weeks old, Mr. Emily, his siblings and his mother were all attacked by a dog while living in an outdoor hutch. Mr. Emily was the only survivor. Mr. Emily got his name during his recovery, when it was discovered that "she" was actually a "he".

Mr. Emily crossed the bridge in 2010.
